Los Angeles, CA — February 2026 — A Tribute to Benny Moré and Nat King Cole has won the GRAMMY® Award for Best Latin Jazz Album, honoring an extraordinary collaboration that imagines the musical meeting history never allowed between two towering 20th-century icons.

The win celebrates a multigenerational ensemble anchored by Gonzalo Rubalcaba, the multiple GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® Award–winning pianist widely regarded as one of the most influential pianists in modern jazz.

Joining Rubalcaba is arranger, producer, and saxophonist Yainer Horta, alongside rising saxophonist Joey Calveiro, whose achievement marks a historic milestone: at just 18 years old, Calveiro becomes the youngest-ever winner in the Best Latin Jazz Album category. He is also among the Top 20 youngest GRAMMY® nominees ever, underscoring the project’s rare fusion of legacy excellence and next-generation artistry.

Originally released on August 24 — the birthday of Cuban icon Benny Moré — the album bridges eras, genres, and cultures by uniting the repertoires of Moré and Nat King Cole, two artists who profoundly shaped global music yet never met in person. The project reimagines that unrealized encounter, blending jazz sophistication with the pulse of Afro-Cuban and Latin rhythms.

Recorded live to tape at the legendary Criteria Recording Studios, the album was engineered by Carlos Álvarez, mixed by Oscar Autie at El Cerrito Records — who also created an Immersive Audio / Dolby Atmos mix — and mastered by Felipe Tichauer at Red Traxx Mastering.

The musical and overall production was led by Yainer Horta and Jossel Calveiro, with executive production by Jossel Calveiro, Kenya Autie, and Fernando Teo Calveiro, under the Calveiro Entertainment LLC imprint.

A Tribute to Benny Moré and Nat King Cole is available on all major digital platforms.
