About
Chart Room Media is a boutique music PR firm based in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in legacy rock, indie rock, jazz, and global music. Founded in 2012 by publicist Brendan Gilmartin, who brings 28 years of experience in music publicity, the firm has built a reputation for hands-on, deeply networked campaigns rather than volume-driven press blasts.
Chart Room Media has run national media campaigns for Grammy winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artists, including Jimmy Page, Dr. John, Billy Bragg, Richard Thompson, Shawn Colvin, Joe Jackson, Ron Sexsmith, and The Chieftains — with many of the albums represented earning Grammy nominations and wins. Coverage has run in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, NPR (All Things Considered, Tiny Desk, World Cafe), Billboard, The Wall Street Journal, Pitchfork, and Time.
Beyond individual artists, Chart Room Media regularly represents corporate and institutional clients, including music publishers, digital rights management companies, music festivals, venues, music apps and various companies and institutions including Brooklyn SolarWorks, Scholastic Books, New York University’s Fales Library, and craft beer maker Braven Brewing.

Based in Gowanus, Brooklyn we are committed to helping promote pro-social initiatives near and dear to the neighborhood. Efforts include our work with Gowanus Dredgers, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to waterfront public access, shore-habitat revitalization advocacy, and education —and to paddling around in Brooklyn’s coolest superfund site.
