Signs deal with UniDisc, one of Canada’s largest independent music companies
Begins lyric licensing, starting with the songs of Metallica
New York-based music royalty collection agency Audiam has announced that it has recovered over $3 million in unpaid royalties owed to music publishers and songwriters in just the month of August, 2017—for clients including Bob Dylan, Metallica, SonyATV, Round Hill Music, Third Man, Round Hill Music Publishing, Jason Mraz and many more—from interactive streaming services like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon and others. Audiam‘s proven income tracking technology ensures that required royalties are collected for all sound recordings of each composition for current and past streams. This technology has increased the royalty distributions to Audiam’s current clients on average between 25% to 40%.
Acquired by Canada’s Performing Rights Organization SOCAN in 2016 Audiam has also confirmed that it has entered into a new agreement to represent the publishing arm of UniDisc, one of Canada’s largest music companies.
Continually adding services, Audiam will begin offering lyric licensing beginning this month starting with the work of Metallica and will soon announce a new interactive accounting interface allowing clients to see how much money was earned by a single composition across digital services as well as how much each recordings of the composition has generated in mechanical royalties for the music publisher and songwriter. More to be announced soon.
