Celebrated UK Indie Songwriter Jamie Webster Announces Fourth Album, Releases New Single “Just Begun”

Liverpool singer-songwriter Jamie Webster has announced his fourth studio album, Running Round The Sun, due September 4, 2026 on Modern Sky UK, and released the album’s lead single, “Just Begun,” today.
One of the most significant artists to emerge from the UK’s independent music scene in recent years, Webster has built a devoted following on both sides of the Atlantic through a body of work rooted in working-class life, community, and an uncommon gift for anthemic songwriting. His 2024 album 10 For The People reached the Top Five of the UK Official Album Charts, and he capped off the year performing to 32,000 people in his home city of Liverpool. Running Round The Sun marks both a creative evolution and a moment of earned reflection.
“This album is about trying to make sense of it all,” Webster says. “Life, pressure, expectations, the way things are changing around us, and still holding onto who you are through it.”
The 14-track album was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in South Wales and Mission Sound Studios in New York, with returning production team Dave Eringa and Tim Cunningham. Webster is joined by his regular bandmates, including Danny Murphy (guitars) and Jim Sharrock (drums), along with guest appearances from Kieran Shudall of Circa Waves and vocalist Rianne Downey.
“Just Begun” is one of the album’s cornerstone tracks, with lyrics providing the album’s title. It finds Webster trading urgency for introspection, reflecting on identity and the slow work of becoming. It’s a measured, affecting piece of songwriting that speaks to where he is as an artist: no longer the scrappy independent climbing toward recognition, but a craftsman fully arrived and taking stock.
To support the album, Webster will embark on a 15-date UK headline tour beginning September 5 in Southampton, running through Glasgow, Manchester, London, and closing at the Isle of Man’s Villa Marina Royal Hall on September 29. The tour deliberately returns to intimate rooms after years of arena and outdoor shows, a conscious choice to reconnect with the grassroots audiences that have been with him from the beginning.
Webster’s story is one American music fans should know. He first came to international attention in 2019 when he performed for an estimated 50,000 Liverpool FC supporters in Madrid’s Plaza Felipe II ahead of the Champions League Final, playing a clutch of original songs about young working-class life to a crowd that had never heard them. That moment launched a career that has since produced four albums, multiple UK chart entries, and a live reputation that consistently punches above its billing.
