Encore Run Follows Three Sold-Out Tours Performing Songs From Critically Acclaimed Album Fast Forward
Legendary songwriter Joe Jackson will hit stages this summer in cities across the U.S. by adding one more “encore” to the Fast Forward Tour. These dates follow three sold-out tours over the last year and a half.
Supporting Jackson once again will be his long-time collaborator Graham Maby on bass, along with guitarist Teddy Kumpel (Rickie Lee Jones, Feist), and drummer Doug Yowell (Suzanne Vega, Ari Hest).
The tour will include stops in several cities where Jackson hasn’t played in many years and several where he’s never played before. The set list will once again feature songs from across Jackson’s entire catalogue including a mix of old songs from his earliest albums, songs from 2015’s critically-acclaimed Fast Forward, and an unpredictable selection of covers. The band has rehearsed and added some songs to the repertoire just for this special run of shows, making it a treat for both first-time and long-time Joe Jackson concertgoers.
“…a set that perfectly balanced his masterful touch on a piano ballad with his ability to rock out.” – PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE
“Jackson’s loose arrangements left room for occasional lilting improv, and highlighted that his voice remains a marvel: pristine and soulful, and edged with vibrato and falsetto.” – CLEVELAND SCENE
“Fast Forward combines the beauty and intelligence of his best earlier work with a new quality: warmth, generosity, possibly even contentment.” – THE NEW YORKER
