Headlining Shows Confirmed At Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre, San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill, SXSW Performance
As sure a shot to be a rock star as LA has produced – LA TIMES
Acclaimed singer Chloe Chaidez, performing under her long-standing moniker KITTEN, has confirmed the release of her latest EP, Heaven Or Somewhere In Between for February 26. Ahead of the release, Kitten will bring her hypnotic and galvanizing live show to LA’s historic Fonda Theater January 30 and San Francisco’s Bottom of The Hill March 5. Additional tour dates below.
Joining irresistible melodies and provocative lyrics with the hard edge of late 70’s post punk, the driving pulse of 80’s new wave and the sweeping ambience of 90’s shoe-gaze, Kitten began to build a sizable fan-base after releasing a trio of highly acclaimed EP’s (Sunday School, Cut It Out and Like A Stranger) in 2014. Kitten’s self-titled debut full-length was hailed by Rolling Stone as a “triumph” promptly placing it in the “top 20 pop albums of 2014.”
Now, following time spent in Nevada and Upstate New York writing and recording, Kitten has produced a new EP as well as a new full-length album. Chloe describes the new album as “dark, moody and grand.” Adding, “We were listening to a lot of British bands, Pulp, Suede, Cocteau Twins, The Cure, as well as Phil Spector, Roy Orbison and Gene Pitney.”
With the EP’s release set for February 26 Kitten are putting the finishing touches on the second full-length album with plans to release it later this year. Chaidez is ready to bring these new sounds to her fans and hopefully a much wider audience.
