NEW YORK, February 14, 2023 – Digital rights management company Word Collections ( https://www.wordcollections.com/), has announced that the appointment of Melanie Santa Rosa to position of Executive Vice President of Global Digital Copyright Administration.
Santa Rosa has over twenty years of experience in music copyright administration, licensing, performing rights, and global societies. Before joining Word Collections, Santa Rosa was Senior Vice President of Global Administration at Spirit Music Group, where she oversaw Spirit’s copyright efforts throughout the world. She first joined Spirit in 2010 as Manager, Film/TV/Advertising, Performance and Copyright Administration. Her contributions at Spirit helped to build the company into a leading independent music publisher and she was an integral part of the company’s success.
Santa Rosa’s career started at BMI where she worked with their songwriters and publishers, as well as liaised with other collective management organizations (CMOs).
As an advocate for creators, Melanie Santa Rosa contributes to the music publishing industry-at-large as an active member of AIMP’s NY Chapter Board, and the Society-Publisher Forum along with their various working groups. She also serves on the Mechanical Licensing Collective’s (MLC) Operations Advisory Committee.
Word Collections was founded and launched by Jeff Price (formerly TuneCore, Audiam) in July 2020 with an initial focus on global publishing and copyright administration for comedians and other spoken word artists for the use of their literary works on Spotify, Apple Music, AM/FM radio, digital radio, Amazon Music, YouTube, YouTube Music, TikTok and others. A year later, in August 2021, Word Collections expanded its administered repertoire to include musical compositions.
